By the time I made it to my 11am meeting this morning, I’d cycled along the river, gone to the dentist, had a swim, sat in the steam bath, had a cold plunge and read the paper. My mornings are not normally this productive: that’s 9.15 dental appointments for you.

Looking at the long list of things I haven’t quite done yet, I’ve decided to stop firefighting the short-term deadlines and instead see which of them can be converted into medium-term deadlines: probably the ones which are the most overdue to begin with.  But of course I haven’t even done this yet, as there are still plenty of very-short-term deadlines to deal with (mostly answering mail, but also hanging out the washing).

A small consignment of very handsome Revenge of the Folksingers mugs arrived today. This just seemed like a good idea as they look fantastic: my prototype one-off is in constant use here.  However, selling them off our website is a little impractical; we might offer them for sale at gigs and see how much people like them.  CD copies of the album should arrive on Monday Tuesday, and will be for sale here very soon afterwards …

Can you guess which folksinger with a beautiful new 7” single/DVD package out sent me a copy enclosing this reference to Cornelius Cardew? Of course you can.

I've just spent an hour doing PRS registrations for the new album on their website: I can still remember when you had to do it on multi-coloured forms and it took forever. The site ground to a halt for no apparent reason twice, but other than that the process (including registering 10 arrangers for most of the items) was remarkably smooth and quick. It's quite a surprise when a company's admin website does what it's meant to do quite well.
