It’s gearing up for festival season here in Glasgow: generators are appearing all over Kelvingrove Park in readiness for all the music stages that will pop up, Alison is moonlighting with the Dunedin Consort at Cottiers in the West End Festival tonight, and down by the river today the Friends of the River Kelvin’s fair was in full swing.  I bumped into Andy Cruickshank who was dripping wet having just capsized while canoeing, but very cheery about it.

This morning I came across these clips on youtube which let you see Timo Alakotila in harmonium dance band mode at close range. What a total hero.

It's a big relief having all my email on IMAP at last. I can gradually deal with stuff while lying on the sofa, here in the hammock, or at the university, rather than having to be at my desk. And in amongst it all this week, there was some good news about our Aldeburgh gig later in the month: Snape Maltings concert hall is free the previous day, so we can rehearse in situ for a day and a half - luxury.
