Can you guess what this is?

It's an inside view of a Broadwood grand piano from 1844, albeit a rather special one that's just been gifted to the University of Glasgow by Andrew Baxter. I dropped in on Roy O'Neil today as he was doing some work on it.

I wanted to listen to the Aldeburgh rehearsal tapes in case there were any hidden gems, so I decided to make all today's journeys on foot, not factoring in that the pavements are all icy again. Oh well. But I did make it to the baths, and on the basis of two days' evidence can say that jumping into cold water a couple of times a day is more effective than paracetamol at relieving the symptoms of a cold. Of course you'll want to take properly qualified medical advice before acting on any bright ideas from me ... or from a homeopath ... or Andrew Wakefield.
