<80s nostalgia>
Once I was getting up this morning I finally put an end to nearly 30 years of waiting and listened to Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin's unreleased LP Disappear, whose release I eagerly anticipated c.1983. The running order has slipped out in some sleevenotes, so I put it together on my iPod from various CD tracks and now there it is, complete with their unlikely 'clangorous Futurism meets Dollar' version of XTC's Roads Girdle the Globe. It's surely only a matter of time now before the Simmons SDS V revival.

Now to huge email backlog and some planning for Aldeburgh.
Oh, I forgot, I did a phone interview with Jim Gilchrist yesterday which should appear in his column in The Scotsman on Wednesday. I was still a bit out of it, so I hope it made sense.

I just came across Trio Settecento's recording of the Georg Muffat violin sonata on Spotify, in which Rachel Barton Pine completely nails the enharmonic changes (an E sharp has to get higher to become F natural, and the like). I'd completely forgotten she played baroque violin.
