Lots of admin and planning getting done here for forthcoming gigs and recordings, all still pencillings in the diary but requiring much time and effort nonetheless. And I've got a stinking cold, so it's taking a while.

As I was observing No Music Day yesterday I couldn't watch Steeleye Span night on BBC4 but have been catching up with bits of it on the iPlayer today instead. I was the subject of some ridicule as a first year music student in York (having given up maths after 4 weeks) when instead of going along to hear the London Sinfonietta doing Frankenstein! with HK Gruber in the university concert hall with everyone else, I got on the bus to Leeds and went to see Steeleye Span instead. At least then they didn't have people shouting 'ARSE!' during All Around My Hat: explanations of this are here, here, and here.

Despite the credit crunch I gave in to my periodic urge to buy pictures this week, picked up one of these, and am now eagerly awaiting the trip to the framers when it eventually arrives. James Kochalka is best known for his addictive four-panel diaries as American Elf.
